PLAYTEX’S COMMITMENT

A more ethical and sustainable approach

OUR MISSION

The last few years have made us think carefully about our environmental and social impact. Because our customers’ concerns are also ours, we have opted for socially, ecologically and ethically responsible practices.

At Playtex, being socially responsible is at the forefront of our whole purpose. Our mission is to offer you the best comfort all day long all whilst diminishing our impact on the planet.

Through our business, we are committed to Human Welfare, the Planet and improving our Products and Packaging, 3 essential pillars that our long-term vision has been built on.

From our planet to our employees, and even our products, we are determined to adopt a more ethical and sustainable approach. This ambitious, stimulating and fascinating vision will continue for years to come, because we are all concerned by these issues.

HUMAN WELFARE

Introduction

We believe in the respect, the value, the diversity and the richness that each person brings.

We act with dignity while accompanying every individual to allow everyone to progress.

All of our team members are very committed, making the force of our company.

L’agence du don en nature

For 8 years, the HanesBrands group, which Playtex is part of, has supported L’Agence du Don en Nature which collects and distributes new non-food products to the most vulnerable.

Every year, ADN organises the distribution of donated products to over 113 different charities in France to help more than 1 million people living in precarious conditions.

Since the start of our partnership in 2013, more than 800,000 products have been distributed to fight against social exclusion, or 233 charities in 59 countries.

Gender Equality

The Hanes group is committed to respecting equal employment opportunities and forbids discrimination and any harrassment based on race, sex, nationality, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, sexual identity, marital status or any other characteristic protected by law.

The group that Playtex is part of gives a great importance to gender equality amongst its employees and also to the representation of women. Currently 73% of our team is female.

In 2020, Hanes’ French branch, which Playtex is part of, got the excellent score of 90/100* in terms of gender equality. This incredible score proves that gender equality is an essential force that drives Playtex to success.

*This score is based on 5 indicators: average salary, individual raise ratio, pay rise applied after a return from maternity leave and number of employees per gender in the top 10 highest salaries.

Human Rights and Responsible Purchasing

Playtex stands for human rights and responsible purchasing.

We ask all of our suppliers to behave with honesty and integrity, and to comply with legislations put into place by our parent organisation HanesBrands.

Our business is involved in implementing good working conditions for our employees by applying a zero-tolerance policy against any forms of violence, harassment or discrimination, and even against child labour for example.

We consider our employees and we strive to respect their rights and help them feel represented.

HUMAN WELFARE

Since 2009, we are happy to be a member of the Fair Labor Association (FLA), an association for the protection of workers’ rights and the improvement of their working conditions, thanks to the adhesion of international norms and the effort provided by companies, social organisations, secondary schools and universities.

HanesBrands also works with the International Labour Organization’s Better Work Program, reuniting all levels from the textile industry to improve working conditions and the respect of workers’ rights.

In our desire to be entirely transparent in our human rights and responsible purchasing program, we also participate in the Global Human Rights Benchmark (CHRB) study, since 2017.

LABEL

Since 2020, Playtex has included Ecosmart®’s eco-responsible label on all of the packaging for our new products. This label, which was created internally, was made to convey our environmentally respectful approach on several aspects:

Environment

Today, after 13 years of continual progress in reducing our environmental footprint, our business has signed a letter of commitment for the “Science Based Targets” call of action. This commitment implies that:
